City of Hope’s Cytogenetic Core Laboratory provides classic and Molecular Cytogenetic services to Beckman Research Institute researchers, as well as non-City of Hope investigators. The laboratory provides complete service, from sample preparation through analysis and interpretation.
The laboratory provides the following Services.
Normal/Simple Abnormal Cell line Characterization 7-14 day turnaround time
Normal Female Karyotype
Complex Tumor/Cell line Characterization Turnaround dependent on complexity of line
Fluorescent in situ Hybridization (3-5 day TAT)
Harvested suspension, Paraffin Embedded Section, Frozen Section, sequential morphology/FISH
NMYC amplification in glioblastoma specimen
Please inquire about additional interpretation costs associated with tissue microarray slides
20 (Mouse) or 24(Human) Color Karyotyping
24 color karyotype of Complex Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cell
Mapping/Custom probe development
If probes are not commercially available for your gene of interest, we can design and manufacture probes specifically for your project. We are able to manufacture probes for both human and mouse genes. TAT dependent on clone availability.
Mouse probes developed for chromosome 2 (green signal) and chromosome 8 (red signal)
